Who would you like to see wearing your jewelry?

Once a month, members of the EtsyMetal team are given a topic or question and then requested to blog about it simultaneously. This month's topic is:
Who would you like to see wearing your jewelry?
This is a tough question.
Naturally, I LOVE seeing my jewelry on anyone (and everyone)!
But, I would be thrilled to have any celebrity donning my designs. Who wouldn't be honored to have their life's work in the spotlight, even for just a moment? To answer the question, I have decided to fantasize about a few individuals whom I would enjoy adorning with Danielle Miller Jewelry...

The Young Starlet:
Emma Stone is one of my favorite young actresses. She is drop dead gorgeous without being overly girly and has a swift and quirky sense of humor that will get you thinking.

The Dame:
Helen Mirren seems to have mastered the art of growing old gracefully. She always looks fit, elegant and fabulous on the red carpet...outshining other stars 30 years younger than her.

The Local Gal:
Kimberly Kelly is a TV host for two Entertainment & Talk Shows on CBS WSPA in Greenville, SC. She is always so well put together and fashionable. She DEFINITELY should be wearing some Danielle Miller Jewelry! :)
thinking Kimberly Kelly would look great in my Marquise Chain Lariat

The Dude:
Jon Stewart needs some of my cufflinks, don't you think?

New Year, New Challenges...

You may or may not know, a year ago, I embarked on a challenge entitled "A Ring-a-Day" in which I was to create one ring every day for as long as I could...

I lasted 100 days. (see my RAD rings on flickr.)
Some brave and VERY creative souls lasted an entire 365. (see everyone's RAD rings on flickr.)

Now in 2011, I am embarking on another challenge...a little less demanding but equally as inspiring..."A Ring-a-Week". I have committed to making one ring per week for the entire year...52 rings! I hope to continue to explore some of the ideas that I began with the previous challenge, to make some rings that have been brewing in my mind for a while and to be inspired to new levels.

This is my first ring for the Ring-a-Week Challenge:
18k gold & green tourmaline.
The stone setting freely slides back and forth.
I hope to not only blog my rings but also to share with you some of the amazing rings made by my fellow Ring-a-Day artists....stay tuned! In the meantime, you can view everyone's RAW rings on flickr.

Friday at the Bench...BMAC prep

I have been busy getting ready for the upcoming Buyers Market...replenishing my pillaged sample set and designing new work. I always feel a little ADD at this time of year...a huge list of "to do's" and too many ideas going in too many directions. This week I have been (trying) to concentrate on adding to my Marquise Collection and am really excited about some of the results. I still have tons to do and nothing is complete yet, but here is a sample of what I've started:
These bracelets are quickly becoming some of new favorites...especially the forged one! I wore it all day yesterday to test the balance and it is perfect...so simple, graphic and elegant.

Recent Advertisements...

Here are some recent ads I've participated in...
This was a co-op ad with Etsy.com. It was in the June/July issue of
BUST magazine
. Can you see my Abacus Bracelet? It's pretty small...but it is a full page ad in a national magazine!

-----------------------------------------------

This is another co-op ad I participated in. I went in with 3 of my galleries and it was in the August 2008 American Style magazine. Thanks to Gallery 50, Allanstand and MARCHi!

A pleasant surprise!

I was happy to hear that the folks at the Rosen Group chose one of my images for their Summer Buyers Market brochure. I exhibit at the February show every year, but this is the first time in 9 years that I will be doing the August show. Keep posted for my booth info and new work...
Here's the info on the show:
The Buyers Market of American Craft, (BMAC) is held twice a year at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in downtown Philadelphia, is a wholesale show that offers the world's largest venue for artists to meet qualified buyers. This show provides a professional setting for the development of wholesale contacts and generates new business for both buyers and sellers of American craft art. The BMAC is produced by The Rosen Group.
